Lifestyle: Cirque du Soleil - Volta
Cirque du Soleil’s powerhouse productions have consistently dazzled with acrobatic poetry and, with gratitude, Atlanta is the current residency for Volta. Until January 5th at Atlantic Station, Volta oddly enough takes inspiration from extreme sports. And it works!
The troupe’s trademark aerial strap art remains, but BMX, rollerskates and ballet sets Volta apart from other Cirque editions. In mesmerizing flow between sensual dance to heart-racing anticipation, Cirque’s aesthetic and story design compliments the mental duress, concentration and teamwork of these incredible performers and stage crew.
The talent was unforgettable, rivaling even some of the major shows I have seen in Vegas. The acts mixed unexpected combinations and were so artfully choreographed with incredible live vocals and instruments. The show even included a jaw-dropping hair suspension scene and compositions by the phenomenal M83; Volta is not to be missed.
And let me tell you, it didn’t hurt that the cast was full of lots of attractive people, including some hunky men with incredible physiques!
Thank you so much to the Cirque Du Soleil PR team for giving me the opportunity to review this show!
