Travel: Savannah weekend at The Alida Hotel
As a small city, Savannah has a certain charm that incites exploration and leisurely enjoyment. One of Georgia’s oldest Southern gems, its distinctive cobblestone squares, Spanish moss and olden architecture exudes a certain magic. Courtesy of The Alida Hotel and Bill Kaelin Marketing, Cameron and I enjoyed a November jaunt out to Savannah with a group of all LGBTQ influencers (what a fun concept!).

Our comfortable stay at The Alida provided a plush homebase as we made our way through one adventure after another. As a Tribute Portfolio independent hotel with individualized SCAD-designed suites, The Alida’s warm hospitality, classic yet serene interiors and complimentary breakfast at the Rhett kept our Savannah stay at ease. The fact that we could bring our two small dogs was such a great perk – we love to travel with our two furbabies! Overlooking the river, the rooftop bar Lost Square was a picturesque setting to sip crafted cocktails during sunset and a choice spot to meet up with other influencers during our Bill Kaelin rendezvous. The group enjoyed our first evening out with lively mingling, making our way to Harpers Gallery for delicious hors d’oeuvres and a jubilant trip to Club One for a robust Friday night drag show. After brunch, we spent some of Saturday afternoon surrounded by the coastal beauty of Page Island, traveling by boat to the immersive natural glory of salt marshes, walking trails and boardwalks. For those who enjoy kayaking or special events in outdoor settings, Savannah boasts many neighboring islands and frequent festivals throughout the year.
We had to look no further than Alida’s sleek lobby bar, The Trade Room, to unwind from our active afternoon. Following a relaxing symposium and meal, we were ready for an evening stroll with the group, a guided ghost tour! Savannah is well-illustrated through lore and legend, and whether you are embracing historical quirks, the abundant nightlife or interested in fusion cuisine, Savannah is an ideal destination for couples, families or groups looking to soak up Southeastern enchantment. The downtown district uplifts a mix of modern and historical with a bounty of boutiques and culinary charm.
